Get your hands dirty with some kite crafting during the school holidays at a cracking spot in Canberra. You will knock up your own colourful creation, give it a personal flair, chuck it in the air to see if it flies straight or does loop-de-loops, then take the whole personalised contraption home to keep the backyard chaos going.

Spots are thin on the ground so arrive early, and it is set up for all sorts of abilities with smooth paths and loos in the Terrace Room that everyone can handle without a hitch.
