After years of failed weight loss diets, Melissa took an interest in nutrition as a way to end her own personal struggles with health and weight and later turned her passion into a career. Her aim is to educate others to nourish the body with delicious, nutritious foods rather than low calorie, fad diets.
Along with her accreditations as a Functional Nutrition Consultant, Melissa is also a Clinical Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) Practitioner.
EFT, also known as ‘tapping’, is a powerful, effective stress management tool using a combination of principles from ancient Chinese acupressure and modern psychology.
It works by tapping the fingers on specific meridian endpoints on the face and body while focusing on negative emotions or physical sensation. This has a calming effect on the stress centre of the brain, the amygdala, and reducing cortisol production, which is the body’s main stress hormone.
EFT is extremely effective for stress reduction and limiting negative behavioural patterns and habits, making it a potent tool for combatting emotional eating, negative food patterns and craving and for gaining body confidence.
