The has been held annually in Canberra Nara Peace Park since 2003 when a delegation of citizens from Nara participated in an informal ceremony to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Sister City relationship. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the sister-city relationship. The festival celebrates Japanese culture and promotes the values of peace and goodwill. The park will be illuminated with 2,000 candles, and visitors can enjoy delicious Japanese cuisine, art, culture, performances, and activities for all ages. Ring the Peace Bell, watch a Cosplay competition, see Taiko drumming, martial arts, and calligraphy demonstrations, or try on a kimono.
