Feel empowered at this FREE workshop for women.

(SALT) is a non-profit organisation that teaches women how to use basic tools through regular, FREE workshops. The next workshop will be held in Canberra on Monday, 9th September.

SALT has a unique vision to teach as many women and girls throughout Australia to use basic tools.



The organisation aims to realise this vision by supporting and empowering women to help themselves, providing mentorship for women who want to get into a trade and providing a source of connection for tradeswomen who want to meet others.

To date, SALT has completed over 270 workshops across five states. Participants range in age, experience and backgrounds, meaning they are suitable for everyone.

These 4.5 hour workshops are free, and participants are asked to bring a plate of food with everyone, making these a highly affordable source of education and support for women.

During the workshops, participants are instructed by one of 5 qualified tradespeople. They will complete a timber project and learn a range of highly valuable skills along the way.

These skills include measuring, cutting, assembling, using a tape measure, hand saw, drop saw, jigsaw, drill and drill bits, impact drivers, hammers, nail punches, nails and screws. Participants will learn how to use the equipment properly with supervision.



There are a maximum of 25 places available, so be quick to register your interest.
